In 2017 we worked with female asylum seekers who are clients of the Jesuit Refugee Service. The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) is an international Catholic organisation with a mission to accompany, serve and advocate on behalf of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons. JRS works chiefly in the fields of education, emergency assistance, healthcare, livelihood activities and social services.

The women we taught are such worthy beneficiaries: they describe how they cannot move their bodies due to the tension they hold inside from trauma.  Yoga is such an appropriate tool for this group and really supported these women mentally and physically.
